The concern about youth vaping continues to grow, with an 80% jump in usage by high school teens recently revealed, prompting the FDA to take notice. Newer, pod-based e-cigarettes are easy to conceal and contain high levels of nicotine, which can disrupt adolescent brain development. This workshop will review different types of e-cigarette trends and use with nicotine and marijuana-based products; key health risks and poly-usage concerns for other substance abuse in high-risk teen populations. We will also explore resources to help inform educators, educate students and further engage parents in vaping and other substance abuse prevention.
