Drugs Endangered Children and Sexual Exploitation
Limited Capacity seats available

The National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children defines drug endangered children (DEC) as children who are at risk of suffering physical or emotional harm as a result of illegal drug use, possession, manufacturing, cultivation, or distribution. They may also be children whose caretaker’s substance misuse interferes with the caretaker’s ability to parent and provide a safe and nurturing environment. In sum, children + drugs equal RISK. This risk has a significant potential impact on neurodevelopment and psychosocial function. This impact can be understood within the context of the long-term effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). This presentation will discuss both individual and environmental risk related to the drug endangered environment. Importantly it will elucidate how the ecology of the child to the drug endangered environment puts them at the highest risk for exploitation.

Freedom Ambassador Project Celebration, Ride Project
The Freedom Ambassador Program combines education with student designed community impact projects.  The first 10 to 12 weeks of the Freedom Ambassador Program is peer to peer education on human trafficking.  The second part of the program is students working on their community impact projects which are designed to uniquely address human trafficking in their community.  Today we are celebrating the culmination of the Freedom Ambassador Program as we the community recognize the accomplishments of these Freedom Ambassadors!
